Richards Adds Montreal Into Division

Columbus was aiming for the second postseason trip in franchise history after adding center Jeff Carter and defenseman James Wisniewski this offseason, but currently sit last in the NHL with just 27 points. To make matters worse, Carter missed 10 games earlier this year with a fractured right foot before suffering a separated shoulder in Sunday's 7-4 loss at Anaheim.

Rick Nash scored twice in Sunday's defeat, giving him 10 goals in his past 22 games after netting just four over the first 19 contests, but Steve Mason allowed four goals in 16 shots in the opening period. Curtis Sanford made only eight saves in relief.

Sunday's loss turned out to be the last for Arniel, who was fired on Monday and replaced with assistant Todd Richards. Arniel, who became the seventh NHL coach to be fired this season, went 34-35-13 in his first season as Columbus' head coach in 2010-11.

Richards joined the Jackets as an assistant in June after spending the past two seasons as head coach of the Minnesota Wild. He had a record of 77-71-16 during his brief tenure in St. Paul, but the club failed to make the playoffs either season.

Richards' Blue Jackets head coaching debut will come in the finale of a four- game road trip. Columbus has lost five of its past seven as the guest and is 5-14-2 on the road this season.

Dave Bolland also lit the lamp on Sunday, but Jimmy Hayes came up empty on a penalty shot in the third period after Detroit covered the puck in the crease and Corey Crawford made 24 saves, including several right before the Red Wings notched the game-winner in OT.

The Blackhawks have now dropped the first two of a four-game homestand and four of their past five as the host.

(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - There just wasn't enough room for both Jaroslav Halak and Carey Price in Montreal, leading to Halak's eventual trade to the Blues despite a run of success with the club. Halak is once again battling a teammate for playing time, but that won't stop St. Louis head coach Ken Hitchcock from giving him the start tonight in Halak's first trip back to Montreal.

However, with the Canadiens already heavily invested in Price, they dealt Halak to the Blues on June 16, 2010 for Lars Eller and Ian Schultz. After facing the Canadiens last year in St. Louis, Halak will finally make his return to the Bell Centre this evening.

"Obviously, it's great to be back in Montreal to play a game," Halak said on Monday. "I'm glad I get the start tomorrow, and hopefully it's going to be a great game for both sides."

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.

Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.

Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.

Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
